Governance

LCCT is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status. The charity has a membership structure and is made up of individuals connected to projects that are part of the trust (project managers, volunteers, steering group members etc.), and other individuals in the city who share the vision and values of the trust. All members come together to form an Assembly which is our primary direction setting and networking space. Out of the Assembly we elect a Governance Hub of Trustees and Co-opted members who oversee the day-to-day running of the trust (co-opted members are individuals who are paid employees on a specific project, trustees are individuals who receive no financial benefit from the trust). A small but dedicated staff team support the Assembly, Governance Hub and Projects through administration and accounting.

Day to day management of projects that are part of the trust is delegated to individual management/ steering groups for each project, with oversight and liability remaining with the LCCT trustees.

The diagram and short video below explain our governance structure in more detail. If you are really keen on knowing more about LCCT’s governance then our memorandum and articles of association are also available here!
