Learning & Development News

dreamsandvisionsEvery month we put together a Project Development e-newsletter which contains all the latest on funding, learning & training, and city engagement opportunities. Sometimes these are events and activities that we are putting on ourselves, but mostly it is information that has been sent to us or gathered from other voluntary, community and faith sector support groups. We try to highlight information that we think will be of particular interest to people engaged in social action, community engagement, and Christian mission initiatives in Leeds, though much of what is included will have wider relevance. Every other month we try to include a reflective blog article and a video piece intended to help each of us make space to reflect on the action and work that we are involved with.

If you have information that you would like to see included please do send it to us here.

If you are not already receiving the monthly project development email, and would like to, you can sign up to receive it here.

7th March - St. Monica's

st monicasSt. Monica's is an initiative of Leeds Diocesan Justice and Peace Commission and the St. Vincent de Paul Society in response to the Gospel imperative to love our neighbour. We provide safe and comfortable accommodation as well as some help with food and other living expenses for up six destitute women asylum seekers, all managed and run by volunteers.

During their time with us, women are able to further their applications for asylum safe in the knowledge that they have a settled address and sufficient funds to live on.
