7th March - St. Monica's
St. Monica's is an initiative of Leeds Diocesan Justice and Peace Commission and the St. Vincent de Paul Society in response to the Gospel imperative to love our neighbour. We provide safe and comfortable accommodation as well as some help with food and other living expenses for up six destitute women asylum seekers, all managed and run by volunteers.
During their time with us, women are able to further their applications for asylum safe in the knowledge that they have a settled address and sufficient funds to live on.
One of our recent residents wrote: "I am truly blessed to have you all in my life."
Please pray for past and present residents of our house and for asylum seekers everywhere and for the institutions which make St Monica's possible.
We give thanks that through the work of our funders and supporters we have been able to continue with this work, as we look forward to expanding our activity.
