Successful Bid Writing 19th Jan 9.45 am - 12.45pm
This course will support organisations to write and submit stronger funding bids and increase their chances of success. We will look at key funders such as the Big Lottery Fund Reaching Communities, Heritage Lottery Fund, Landfill funders, large charitable trusts and other funders giving substantial grant funding.

We will look at key questions (on application forms and in bids to trusts) such as clarifying what you will do, why, assessing needs, outcomes and impact (theory of change), your capacity to manage and deliver your project, partnership working and involving people, evaluation, fit with national and local strategies. We will look at what makes a bid stand out from the rest, and how to present your bid succinctly, with the right tone and ethos.
Be prepared to complete a major funding bid Understand what funders look for in answers to key questions – need, outcomes, project delivery and management, involvement, partnership working and strategic fit. Develop your bid writing skills and bring your project to life Know how bids are assessed.
This course is suitable for: anyone involved in a voluntary or community group, who has responsibility for, or is involved in completing funding bids. You should have some experience of writing bids for small funding pots and now want to move on to applying for larger, more competitive funding. You can bring along any draft bids – but please let the Trainer know. After the session you can e-mail any draft bids to Trainer, and she will give you some feedback to help you to improve your bid.
