2018 has been a year of reorganisation and consolidation for Left Bank (LBL) in Burley. We are so thankful for a fantastic finance team coming into post, and for new trustees of the charity and board members of the CIC (Community Interest Company) that does the work of LBL.
Thousands of people come to LBL every year both for events that use our building, and for LBL’s own programme of activities that outworks our themes of welcome, wellbeing, creativity and connection.
The amazing neo-Gothic space of LBL was built in the early years of the last century by local people raising the money. It was built to hold people coming together as community (someone recently described the structure as being like a rib-cage) in an awe-inspiring extravagance of space.
Please pray for the Trustees as we continue to explore how to re-interpret and re-imagine a space built for the glory of God, outside of being normal ‘church’.
