The Food Aid Network continues to bring together food aid providers, the Council and different agencies in order to develop a coordinated strategy in tackling food poverty.
Recent activities across the city include:
Over half a million pounds was released to support Healthy Holiday activity in the school holidays to help prevent Child Hunger supporting over 5000 children.
Asda has released substantial finances to develop the work of FareShare Yorkshire, Leeds North and West and Leeds South and East Foodbanks.
On location support has been developed at different foodbank outlets including the DWP providing advice in the South and East of Leeds.
Foodbank use increased by 20% to reach 33,645 in the year 2018/19.
Please pray for many people who are living on low incomes and are finding themselves in a state of food poverty. Pray they will be able to break free of poverty and no longer need food aid assistance.
