The Leeds Homeless Charter brings together different charities, grass-root groups, the council, commissioned services and people with lived experience to help tackle homelessness in the city.
The Charter works around 4 working groups which help provide dialogue between different participants covering topics such as preventing homelessness on prison release, migration, addiction and mental health and how grass-roots groups are connecting with commissioned services. A key development is activity taking place to enable grass-roots groups and other community groups to be able to release more volunteers to offer key befriending support when people are rehoused.
The Charter is also linked to Big Change Leeds which has released £34,000 to support vulnerable people with items, transport, electric tokens etc…
Please pray for all experiencing different forms of homelessness.
Give thanks for the good work happening and please pray for the development of volunteer befrienders to support people when they are rehoused.
