CITY OF SANCTUARY

Leeds City of Sanctuary is part of a national movement to build a culture of welcome for people seeking sanctuary in the UK.

In Leeds this group of volunteers and local agencies are committed to making our city a haven for anyone who needs its protection, and enabling refugees to utilise their skills by creating a network of people and organisations united in making our city more welcoming, open and fair for all.

With projects like Schools of Sanctuary, Sanctuary in the Arts, 6 Sanctuary Suppers and a whole week of events throughout Refugee Awareness Week, Leeds City of Sanctuary is helping a great many newcomers to find their feet here and feel welcome here in Leeds.
