MIGRANT ACTION

Many vulnerable migrants are confined to the edges of society, facing the real risks of exploitation, destitution, child poverty, detention and deportation with limited or no access to justice or services.

Migrant Action is an advocacy and migrant rights-based organisation, empowering migrants and reducing vulnerability. Offering advice, guidance, advocacy, integration and access to justice, Migrant Action works to overcome the effects of government policies that create ‘hostility’ and vulnerability among migrants.

Response to COVID-19 crisis

The provision supports destitute migrants with no recourse to public funds, those with insecure immigration status, immigration detainees, migrants in insecure and low paid work and other vulnerable migrants. Migrant Action is committed to continuing supporting them during this crisis.

What do we offer and How?

Providing Information, Advice, Guidance and Advocacy: support to help people navigate through the crisis. We respond to support enquiries by telephone and will provide information, advice and guidance including signposting and referrals.  Contact us by telephone on 01133731763 or email us at info@migrantaction.org.uk

EU Settlement Scheme:  Due to the government’s advice, we are not providing face-face appointments to complete applications, however, we continue to provide  telephone and online-based support to help EU nationals apply for Settled Status.

Crisis Support:   We recognise that these are extremely tough times especially for individuals and families with no recourse to public funds as well as migrants rendered destitute due to the coronavirus crisis.  Migrant Action can provide crisis support helping migrants to overcome destitution and food poverty by providing food vouchers, food parcel etc and working collaboratively with other services assisting migrants to access the crisis provision in the city.
