Leeds Dads is a support organisation for fathers in the city. Our objectives are to:
· Run regular events for fathers and their children
· Support dads with information and signpost to expert help
· Promote our network of fathers for peer support in service of all children in Leeds
Our free family-oriented Father’s Day event ‘Dadstastic Day’ 2019 will welcome over 1,500 dads, mums, grandparents and carers to play and engage with arts and dance with their children. Our free Christmas Party in 2018 welcomed over 130 guests and our monthly playgroups regularly attract around 20 dads and 30 children.
Regular referrals from Children’s Centres and Social Services help us to attract fathers and their children from all parts of the community in Leeds, regardless of race, religion or socio-economic background. Recent research from Leeds Beckett University’s ‘The State of Men’s Health’ report describes Leeds Dads as “a positive factor in the city”.
In 2018 Leeds Dads was proud to receive the Community Group of the Year award from Compassionate Cities. Please support us to build on this success by helping us to engage with and support more communities in the city.
