During 2018 Christians Against Poverty (CAP) in Leeds have been encouraged by the addition of the role of debt coaches, who operate in North West Leeds and areas of South Leeds. We currently have four debt centres, operating out of Bridge Community, City Evangelical, South Parade Baptist, and Vision church buildings, and five debt coaches. Postcodes not currently covered by existing centres are LS7, LS14, LS15 and LS17. Please pray in 2019 the service coverage can be extended to these areas.
One CAP client said: “Life before was horrific. I was scared of the door, scared of the post, scared of the phone. CAP has transformed me. Now I like getting up in the morning and I enjoy life.”
Testimonies like this are frequent and evidence of the burden many feel when faced with unmanageable debts, and the need for CAP’s unique ‘hands on’ approach to empower people to help themselves out of poverty.
Please pray for more individuals and church congregations in Leeds to partner with CAP and release more families out of debt in 2019.
