Bringing Communities Together meets every Thursday after school at St Luke’s Church Holbeck and provides all age activities for local people and refugees from Syria, Iraq and other Middle Eastern Nations. About 30 of us meet every week, and through ESOL, arts, crafts and sharing food together we learn about each others’ cultures.
We are grateful to God for the great friendships which have been built over the past two years and for continued funding. “It’s like my family” says one Syrian lady who lives on the estate. We have also had outings to the theatre and to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Recently the children’s art work was exhibited at the Basement Arts Project gallery in Beeston.
Please pray for:
· good relationships between different communities on the estate
· the parents as they learn English and for the children that they build long and lasting friendships
